The Illinois Drivers Alliance is a coalition of rideshare drivers across the state, powered by SEIU Local 1 and IAM Local 701.
For years, drivers have organized for fair pay, stronger protections, and a real voice on the job. Now, thanks to the law signed by the governor, Illinois drivers have a legal path to unionization.
The next step is up to us: organizing drivers across the state and getting every driver to sign a union card so we can build our union.
IAM LOCAL 701
IAM Local 701, alongside the IAM Midwest Territory and SEIU Local 1, has joined forces to organize rideshare drivers across the Midwest.
Recognizing the urgent need for drivers who currently lack a voice on the job in the gig economy, this effort is focused on creating a path to unionization, so drivers can secure fair pay, job security, and workplace protections.
SEIU LOCAL 1
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1 represents 50,000 workers across the Midwest, including janitors, security officers, airport workers, residential maintenance workers, and more.
Now, they’re organizing rideshare drivers to help build a path to unionization, so drivers can secure a real voice on the job.
CHICAGO GIG ALLIANCE
The Chicago Gig Alliance is a driver-led group, part of The People’s Lobby, representing gig workers across the city.
They fight for a living wage, safer working conditions, and transparency and to hold companies like Uber and Lyft accountable.
